Membership

Any University of Alberta student who has interest in primary health care may join SIHA. SIHA advocates the involvement of students from all faculties and departments. We believe this multidisciplinary approach encourages the exchange of alternative perspectives on health and health care.

International

A membership on SIHA International requires a minimum of two years commitment. During the first year, the members will be a part of a team to travel abroad to promote health awareness. This involves living in challenging conditions and delivering multiple health seminars a day. Upon return from Tanzania, the members will be elected into executive positions, where the planning and daily running of SIHA projects occur.

Travel preparation and project planning can be extensive for members selected to travel to Tanzania, a large devotion of time and energy is require to make SIHA's projects run smoothly. If you wish to apply to SIHA International, please complete the International application form and drop it off at our office (SUB 040E). Selected applicants will undergo personal and group interviews. Membership costs $15.00.

Local

SIHA Local also advocates the involvement of students from all faculties and departments in order to foster diverse perspectives of health and health promotion. To become a member of SIHA local projects, you must submit the Local application form with your attached CV. You will also undergo an interview to discuss your interest and commitment to the group. Membership costs $10.00.
